Purple Komatsuna Seeds
Purple Komatsuna is a striking Asian green with broad tender leaves, deep purple-black colour, and crisp pale stems. Harvest baby leaves for salads or cook mature leaves like bok choy.
Growing Notes
- Sow in fertile, evenly moist soil during cool spring or fall weather.
- Succession sow for a continuous supply of baby leaves.
- Harvest outer leaves repeatedly or cut whole plants young.
- Provide afternoon shade as temperatures rise.
In The Kitchen
Use young leaves raw in salads and bowls, or cook mature leaves quickly with garlic, sesame, noodles, or rice. The colour and fine leaf shape make a beautiful garnish.

Start indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Germinate at 26–30 °C on a heat mat; peppers stall below 22 °C. Pot up to 10–15 cm before hardening off outside after nights stay above 12 °C.
